The benefits of self Awareness

According to a Google search result, The term self means  a person's essential being that distinguishes them from others, especially considered as the object of introspection or reflexive action: The term awareness refers to knowledge or perception of a particular situation or fact. Self awareness is the ability to assess one’s actions, reactions and thought patterns in an effort to come to beneficial conclusions

Once you become aware of your thought patterns, your basic understanding of the way you think, act and react and how it affects your daily life, you will be able to decide how you want to be thinking, acting and reacting in the future.  Self awareness allows you to understand that you are creating your life and that it is your responsibility to choose thoughts that benefit you rather than those that do not. Knowing this puts you in a place of power because you are now able to reprogram your thinking by feeding your mind with materials that will force you to think differently.

Inadvertently, you will become aware of how your thoughts affect your actions. How they determine the next move you make and how you make that move. All our actions are based on how we perceive the world and our perception of the world is based on the way we think. Therefore, how we think has a direct impact on what we create.

With better, clearer, more informed and desired thinking, one can begin to notice how they have thought their way to each action step that they have taken and see the results they have gotten and in the same manner, they will now understand the power they have create the results they want.

Finally, as we think, we react. Life is not and never will be without it’s challenges. It is the challenge that provides us with growth and development. This is one of the best bit of knowledge I have learnt. When we aren’t aware of this, the challenges that we face become inhibitors which lead many people to stagnancy. It also causes many to react to situations in an incorrect manner which often times escalates an already difficult situation. With self awareness, the understanding of the meaning of life allows one to take on challenges and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Self awareness is one of the most powerful tools to tap into in the personal development space, because it impacts every aspect of a person’s life. At the end of the day, our thoughts is the most dominate factor in our everyday lives and when we become self aware, we can begin to make our thought process supportive instead destructive. We can take right actions and become pro-active instead of reactive. We can become better and friendlier to ourselves and others.
