ABOUT ME

Life Coach | Speaker | Author | Podcaster | Mother of two beautiful kids.

Shareka Swaby is an extraordinary ordinary girl from humble beginnings. Born on the small Caribbean island of Jamaica, in a little mountain side community called Rowlandsfield to broke parents.

Life was always a struggle for as long as I can remember and when things are like that, it always leaves us wanting. Consciously, I was always a lofty thinker but unconsciously my daily thought process never aligned with the things I aspired to be, do and have.

Growing up broke and remaining broke as an adult took its toll on me. For a long time, I felt like I wasn’t enough. Not having enough has its way of making you feel you’re not enough yourself especially, if you’re in an environment where your worth is determined by your accolades and bank account.

There isn’t any point in denying the fact that society is hierarchical. In the eyes of many, you’re not regarded until you e accomplished much. My self-esteem was low, I was intensely shy, I was reserved and I never smiled on camera. I struggled with standing up for myself. I never spoke up for myself, I was judgmental, not knowing I was only judging myself.

My dad had disowned me because I wasn’t his complexion, in a world where colorism is very much alive, everything else around me confirmed i'm not enough. It was hard to see myself as beautiful. I lacked confidence but I knew I had potential.

While pregnant with my second child, things started turning within me, I wanted to be better, I wanted more, I felt so horrible having another child when I haven’t manage to step into my potential any at all. I started to feel like I was throwing my life away.

I was now angry at my dad and he was dying too. He passed away and I was still angry. Sometime later, I started my  journey for personal discovery. I begin to see how I had created my life through my way of thinking and being. I was blown away. I couldn’t believe that I had thought my way to the life I was living.

I was so intrigued and fascinated. I was now hungry to learn more and the more I learnt, the more I realized that everything is, was and always will be about how we think. Thinking is the fundamental problem and the fundamental solution. With that I have developed a passion to help other heal and become the best version of themselves.

I authored An Introduction To Freedom which is provides the 1st steps to mental, emotional and spiritual well being. I became a life coach and mentor so that I can help others along this journey. I host a podcast called conversations With Shareka which is aimed at sharing stories of victory in an effort to show others that they don’t have to remain stuck or in pain but that they can push forward as well as to share the expertise of those who have done it and want to help others do it also.

I am currently training with Toastmasters so that I can spread the message through speaking as well. I co-host a show called Vault Talks Women Share, which is a platform with a similar vision as mine.

My mission is to help heal the world. I believe that no matter who you are, there is something within all of us that is simply magical but it requires us to heal before we can really see ourselves.

We need to remove the veil from our eyes and see the light that we are and so, I’ll go where the vision leads.
